Biography

Jessica Yu is an Associate Attorney with the Leigh Law Group. She works in special education law, IEP's, Section 504 rights, discrimination, disability rights, suspension matters, expulsion hearings, civil litigation and K-12 public school education law related matters. She also works in our higher education law areas working on academic probation, suspension, harassment and Title 9 issues.

Jessica earned her law degree in 2021 from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. While in law school, she served as the Chief Executive Projects Editor of the Washington University Journal of Law & Policy, competed as an oralist on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team, and was the Vice President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. Jessica served as a Law Clerk for the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California, the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Southern District of Illinois, and the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.

Jessica earned her undergraduate degree in Public Policy from the University of Southern California. She is an active member of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area.

Jessica brings a new perspective to client representation. She is meticulous to detail and highly interested in representing parties who are treated unfairly. Jessica primary interest is representing individuals who feel marginalized and disadvantaged. Her enthusiasm for the law and the "underdog" stems from her background as a first-generation college student graduate and a child of immigrant parents. She has experienced firsthand the benefit of having a skilled advocate by your side.
